PROPERTIES
|
Active content |
: |
Polyacrylate |
pH |
: |
Yellowish, transparent, viscous liquid with a neutral reaction |
Solubility |
: |
Provided that it is kept in sealed containers, away from direct
sunlight MAK-BIND-T can be stored for 6 months with no attendant
change in its properties |
Stability |
: |
Solutions
of MAK-BIND-T have adequate
stability to waterhardening substances.
however, the product may form barely
soluble precipitates in the presence of
acids, polyvalent metals ions, e.g.
copper, aluminum, zinc and cationic
substances. |
Thermal |
: |
MAK-BIND-T is
stable to heat and does not become brown
or brittle, even on |
Stability |
: |
prolonged
contact with the hot drying cylinders on
the sizing machine After heat-setting,
combinations of MAK-BIND-T with
CMC or a water-soluble starch can still
be readily washed out under alkaline
conditions. |
Action |
: |
When
it dries, MAK-BIND-T forms a
strong, tough film, which has excellent
adhension to jute, cellulosic &
polyester fibre blends, can be readily
washed out. The high adhesive power of
the product results in an excellent
sizing effect and weaving performance.
Warps that have been correctly sized
with MAK-BIND-T give excellent
results which meet the highest
requirements on all types of weaving
machines. |
Washing
out |
: |
MAK-BIND-T can be
readily washed out. |
|
: |
|
|
|
|
If MAK-BIND-T
is employed in combination with a
starch, the desizing conditions depend
on the properties of the starch products
employed
|
|
|
|
MAK-BIND-T can
be used without any further additives
for sizing jute or spun / filament rayon
warps and certain cotton yarns e.g. for
terry cloth or surgical fabrics
|
All that is necessary is
to stir the size into the water until
the solution is homogeneous The sizing
liquor is ready for use It can be
applied at room temperature or at
80-90°C.
|
When MAK-BIND-T is applied alone,
the relative humidity of the air in the
weaving department 3 should not exceed
75% at 22° C (=14.6g water per mm air).
|
MAK-BIND-T can be applied
in combination with all types of
starches Depending on the weaving
requirements and on the climatic
conditions in the weaving department the
ratio of MAK-BIND-T to starch can
be varied from 1:3 to 1:10. The liquor
concentration-also with such combination
sizes naturally depends on the type of
yarn to be sized and on the mechanical
conditions.
|
To improve the
processing characteristics and flow
properties of natural starches, it is
advisable to degrade them to a certain
extent to lower the viscosity of the
sizing liquor.
